These lamb chops are so good you will wanna lick your plate clean,, I promise it’s that good!

Braai Lamb Chops

The lamb chops are cooked to perfection and smothered in a finger-licking butter sauce.

I don’t eat lamb but I was salivating making these chops, they looked and smelled so good.

📝 What do we need to make this dish

Lamb Chops, either lamb cutlets also known as rib chops or loin chops

Herbs and Spices, I wanted to use fresh thyme as I love the fragrance of thyme and of course I wanted a little bit of heat

Honey, the sweetness of the honey pairs so well with the spiciness and it gives the lamb chops a lovely almost caramelised texture

Butter Sauce, made with butter, chilli and garlic

How to make Braai Lamb Chops

To make this dish it is preferable that you marinate the lamb chops overnight, however, if you are short on time an hour is fine.

We love popping these lamb chops on the braai, however you can also pan fry them.
For well done lamb chops we popped them on the braai for 13 minutes.

If you cooking them on the stovetop it should take about 3 minutes per side (for1.5cm thick chops).

The above is for well done chops. If you prefer medium rare then reduce the time by a minute, this will depend on the thickness of the lamb chops.

Once the lamb chops are cooked you will then melt some butter in a pan and the add the other ingredients. Finish off with some lemon juice and drizzle the butter over the chops.

You can garnish with some parsley or coriander.

What to serve with Braai Lamb Chops

My family loves a good potato salad and a bean salad with these chops.

However, you can serve them with chakalaka, garlic bread, roosterkoek, pap.
