Some of my friends have been rather surprised that Some of my friends have been rather surprised that I’m showing myself so much on social media. Some are surprised that I’m actually getting dressed and posing for photos, all for social media. Today I received some sarcastic and rude comments all of which I chose to ignore and delete. I CHOSE to share a part of my life so that I can make a difference to those that need it. Nobody is forced to stay on my feed. Yes, I said it because I won’t sell my soul for followers. Numbers don’t matter to me. I am showing myself, not for social media. It is for ME. For the woman that always felt smaller than every other woman. For the woman that always doubted her worth. For the woman that believed it was her humble status or her social standing that didn’t allow her to fit into high society and cliques. For the woman that believed you needed money and degrees to claim your space. For the woman that never believed you had to ride on your husbands waves to reach the height of success. For the woman that was made to feel inadequate as a wife. For the woman that suffered abuse and believed she deserved it. For the woman that felt like a bad mother all her life because she didn’t always follow the norm. For the woman that held on to other women for support but was constantly let down. For the woman that gave so much love and thought she would be loved the same way but never was. For the woman that constantly tried to win people over by giving, giving so much to the point of exhaustion. For the woman who believed that a kind heart alone was enough to survive this crazy world. For the woman that’s constantly misunderstood. For the woman that has endured so much pain and yet smiled through it all. For the woman that could always see the pain of others but nobody ever saw hers. Yes that’s the woman I am doing this for. For once I am claiming my space in this world and I feel better for it. I have grown into my own skin and I have finally accepted that I’m worthy. I am worthy just the way I am and proud of the woman I am. Yes, I’ve made mistakes but my mistakes doesn’t define the person I am and my past is a lesson, not a life sentence #iamenough #iamworthy

This “Bunny Chow” that you see in the picture is very popular here in SA. It is bread, I baked my own, filled with curry. The most popular being a lamb curry. You scoop out the insides of the bread and fill it with your favorite curry. Served with a carrot salad. You’re supposed to dig in with your fingers, no forks and knives needed. I’m back and I feel a lot better today. At least I’m back and I feel a lot better today. At least I have my energy back. Thank you to everyone for your kindness and well wishes, I appreciate it. My posts are not for attention or sympathy, I’m human and real and I like keeping it that way. Some people are offended by personal posts and they unfollow or ignore and that’s ok. It’s good to be back to share what I love most, food. My family is happy that superwoman is up and about again. I don’t eat lamb but I do cook it for my boys. It is also one of the more popular recipes on my blog. In keeping with heritage day what better to share than food I grew up with. I have fond memories of my mum cooking us this Lamb Curry, early on a Saturday, just in time for lunch. And it was the best Lamb Curry you will ever eat. We never ate at a restaurant since March. Yesterda We never ate at a restaurant since March. Yesterday we decided to go out for a post anniversary celebration, to our favorite Greek restaurant. I think it was all the excitement of getting dressed and going out that made me ill...Lol! Actually I don’t think so, I felt really uneasy about going but I did it anyway. Sometimes we need to trust our intuition. I was totally well yesterday and today I am down in bed. Talk about life changing from one day to the next. At least a couple of times a year my body is almost depleted of all its energy and I have to literally stay in bed. I don’t know why and the doctor cannot tell me either. I just assume it is linked to my autoimmune conditions. I have been lucky last year as it skipped a year. Probably thought I needed a break 🙈 For weeks I felt my body needed a rest, albeit I’m too stubborn to listen to it. I’m also filled with optimism and want to be superwoman some days. Today I even had my huge “to do” list. I woke up feeling absolutely fine. How we take little things for granted. There are times when we just need to slow down and listen to our bodies. I think it knows what’s good for us. Usually it takes a few days and I’m back to my bubbly self. For now I’m enjoying being waited on by my husband. It only happens about once a year so I better make the most of it. And no he won’t be cooking because he doesn’t know how, I think I should remind him that his wife has a food blog full of recipes with easy to follow instructions. I must admit I don’t eat a whole lot of bread bu I must admit I don’t eat a whole lot of bread but my kids love bread. This morning, I realized we were out of bread and I know my kids would make it seem like we have no food in the house. So I had to rise at the crack of dawn and get baking, this braided bread turned out amazing. I’m so happy that I’ve learnt to bake my own bread. It is really a labour of love, especially when your “no carb eating” (when it suits him) husband literally waits for the bread to pop out the oven. I am trying to keep most of my bread recipes egg free so everyone can enjoy them.
