Preheat your waffle iron
Mix all the dry ingredients, flour, sugar, baking powder and cornflour together in a large bowl
Seperate the egg white from the egg yolk and whisk the egg white until stiff peaks form. Set aside
In a separate bowl mix the milk, oil, vanilla essence and egg yolk
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk. Do not overman
Fold in the egg white.
Pour the batter in the hot waffle iron, about half a cup. This will depend on the waffle maker you have
Allow it to cook for 5 minutes. You can use your discretion here depending on the waffle maker you have
Serve hot with your favourite toppings
