Freshly Ground Fennel or Soomph is made by dry roasting the seeds and grinding them. Fennel seeds is the dried seeds of a fennel plant. It has a liquorice-like taste but not as intense. It is used in Indian dishes such as curries and Pilafs or Biryani. It is also one of the essential ingredients in masalas and curry powders. Best used in this Lamb Pilaf
