Masala Dal is typically served with Vegetable Pilaf or Biryani, at least here in South Africa it is. In the good old days every Hindu wedding had a vegetable pilaf with masala dal on the menu. There is a perception that it’s the only those that live in Durban can make the perfect Lamb Curry. I was raised in Durban so I hope that counts. I always hated pumpkin until I married my husband. I didn’t know how to cook it and never thought I would want to. But after hearing all his moans about how he missed his mum’s Easy Pumpkin Curry I was forced to get the recipe and make an effort to cook it with love.
